order of worship 3/1/2009

Hello all -

What a great morning we had yesterday.  I was tremendously blessed by the entire service.  Encouragement after encouragement throughout.

This week, in an effort to shorten things up in light of the ministry fair, things are getting shuffled a bit.

The Announcements/Ministry highlights are simultaneous to the Offering and both happen immediately after the first set of songs rather than after Communion.  Once the offering has been taken and the ministry highlights have been completed, we can make the transition to the Lord's table.  We'll sing during that and then after the song and prayer of response we can dismiss the kids.  I think that should keep things fairly short, all things considered.

Ernie - great passage yesterday, thanks for your work in selecting it.  This week, since we're trying to shorten everything, something a little more brief might be in order.

Jake - let's go acoustic all the way this Sunday.

If anyone has any thoughts or comments, let me know.
Thanks to all of you.  I was re-listening to Steve's last message about a passion for the people of God in Philippians 1, how Paul says that he thanks God always, in every prayer.  I can't claim to be as frequent in my remembrance or in my prayer, but I can say that I do thank God for all of you and I do it frequently.  I love serving with you all and I look forward to it every week.  God is good, and he's good to me through all of you.  Thanks for your love for the church and your commitment to serve.

Thanks Tim for the early order of service. Would you please let us know when you have posted the charts via email. That way I can be sure that the songs are either new or familiar. I'm not sure about the first one but I think the rest are familiar.
In Grace,
Pat

Pat, I'm pretty confident that you know the first one. "knowing you Jesus, knowing you, there is no greater thing, you're my all, you're the best.." we've done it several times. I'm not going to make any promises about an email update. I'd just encourage you to check back on the site towards the end of the week

Yes, you are correct I do know this song. Now unfortunately I am without a voice, well, I have a frog voice but that may not be too good for a Sunday morning. It just blossomed last night so I don't think I can expect to recover by Sunday. Any suggestions on who I might ask to fill in. Anyone reading this, any volunteers?
