TEch - Visuals
During worship
I again went through each song slide prior to the service looking for errors and again didn't find any.  However, it became apparent during worship that there was one song I for sure didn't have the right lyric and another I might have the wrong one.  I should have caught this during practice time but didn't.  And now that I think about it, I'm not sure that I went back and changed them after the service, even though I took notes to do so!  I was eager to get out of the booth to say hello to people, but I think it's worth it to spend an extra five minutes in the booth after the service to read back over your notes and see if anything needs adjusted.  Remember to always make lyric changes on the master slide in the worship folder rather than in that morning's presentation so it's fixed for good.

On "How Marvelous", I did not confirm with TW if we were beginning on the chorus or the verse, so I was late getting that up when we started singing.  He had mentioned it during practice, but I didn't confirm and so ended up not being sure.  Also, on "How Deep the Father's Love For Us", I was supposed to let the ladies sing through the first verse without the lyrics up.  I did not make note of that, which is probably why I forgot!  I guess I'm still learning that taking notes during practice is key!

You may have noticed we changed up the font on the slides.  This does mean that every master file needs to be updated to the new font, which I spent some time doing Saturday and Sunday but only got about 20 done.  I'll be sending out a new template to the team for making new slides.  Jonathan, I'll try to get with you on Sunday morning to make sure you're good with how to change the slides.  Shannon and I will catch up on it at a later time.  We're hoping it makes things easier to read... any feedback on this from those of you who were out in the congregation?

I confess I did not do a good job of cuing up the the DVD prior to the service.  You may have noticed that part of the video was on the screen when it started even though it went back to the beginning.  We weren't quite sure we were going to run the video, and I waited until it was a sure thing instead of just getting it ready.

During the sermon
I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.  Did anyone else?

TEch - Sound
The Scripture reading was perfect.  Steve adjusted the mic beforehand, and John was ready with the cue after the adjustment but before the reading.  Same for the prophecies throughout the service, except for the one where the reader held the mic instead of leaving it in the stand.  It's better to leave the mic in the stand so that we don't hear the person bumping it around or putting it back in the stand.  It's difficult for the sound tech to see the mic, so muting it before the person starts putting it back in the stand is near impossible.  Whoever's in charge of the mic, please make sure it stays in the stand

Whenever possible, the visual tech should help the sound tech with cuing the prophecy mic and others when necessary.  The visual tech has a more direct line of site down the aisle to the prophecy mic and also doesn't have to have his/her head down to look at the board like the sound tech does.  We may be working on different things, but it's still a team back there, so help each other out

One last note on sound to TW:  when you are speaking into the mic like you did after the Scripture reading, make sure you're up close to the mic.  We had you cranked up and you were really hard to hear.  John and I both thought it was because you were a bit far back.

If anyone has any other insights, feel free to add them!

Check this out Brooke, I am leaving a comment!! Just wanted to put my two cents in that I think the new font is excellent. Much easier to read especially when we don't have the words in front of us and are looking at the wall directly underneath it. Sorry about that! When I set up the sheet music I put back at my seat the third page of the second new song, or so I thought. My sheet said page 2 0f 3 but it was actually the 3rd sheet and I did not catch it. Therefore Kate and I did not have the words to the second verse in front of us. That did not look good, I am sure for us to obviously not have the words in front of us. I'll be more careful about that in the future and if I can figure out how to download the sheet music I will have it all in order before I come.

Thanks again, Brooke for all the hours you put in on this.
